Tom Fryers (1936–2023) was public health doctor and an amateur, self-taught composer. He wrote music for family and church occasions, but also for his own pleasure. Many of his works are fairly light in style and very accessible, although always with attention to structure – he had a particular liking for fugues. Some works, for example his piano sonatas, are complex in structure, rhythm and tonality. Much of his choral output reflects his strong personal Christian faith, often combined with the humour which is present across most of the music he wrote.
This website is intended to be a complete catalogue of his music, assembled by his son Paul with technical assistance from his grandson Tom. It will include PDF copies of all the scores, which can be printed and used for personal or public performance. Where possible it will also have audio files. It is currently work in progress, so updates are posted here.
February 2024. The piano section is complete, with PDF scores and audio files. Only odd works available in other sections.
